Down the drain

Scientists out of Charles Darwin University in (where else?) Darwin, Australia thought they’d get clever when studying some tree frogs by inserting radio transmitters into their bodies.  They’d track the frogs, see where they go and what they do.  Some measurements would get done and everything would be awesome, scientifically speaking.

Unfortunately for their study, the frogs had a secret trick up their sleeves.  The radio transmitters ended up lying around, very notably outside the frog’s bodies.  As it turns out, the frogs can move things from their body cavities into their bladders, at which point they excrete them out in what is presumably a painful fashion.

One of the tree frogs in question, taking a moment to squeeze out a scientific instrument or two.
