This is Zara Hartshorn. She suffers from lipodystrophy, a disease that makes her appear aged beyond her years. Lipodystrophy is a syndrome that deteriorates the fatty tissue that supports the skin and affects less than 2000 people in the world.

DUH THATS BECAUSE SHE HAS A DISEASE!
She is really a teenager and the few people in the world with this syndrom have to live with that sort of abuse everyday of their lives. I read an interview in a magesine with proberly the same person here and she said that once one of her teachers mistook her for another teacher.

I’ve heard of Lipodystrophy, it has one good side, because if you have it, you cant get fat, no matter what you eat. It’s described as “Dieter’s Utopia”.

Guys, have you read the MSNBC article? Her mother is a very selfish human being. She has had 3 children, all different fathers. And ALL her 3 children have the disease! Even the mother suffers from the disease. She even expected more or less for her kids to suffer from the disease. What a…..!
Am I saying that she is not allowed to have kids just like anyone else? No. You know what I mean.
It is also shocking (not really when you read the article) that she hasn’t looked in to genetic manipulation. Apparently there are some diseases that are “disabled” with the help of genetic manipulation in the “egg stage” – they do it in USA. And they have done it for quite some time now.
I really do hope that this poor girl is helped. It is not her or her existence I am damning, it is her mother’s. I hope that she receives some hope (as that can get you through most). But I do wonder, even if they could repair whatever broken gene/cells she has that causes the fat to deteriorate, would that mean she will eventually look her real age (13) or will she just age normally from that point on (meaning she will still have her 50+ appearance)?

No offense to everyone that says may god cure her .but this is just an uncurable disease I mean even if u cure it how will u change her apperence back to a 13 year old Most diseases like this dont have a cure its just a fact so will have to live with
At least it’s just her looks though. I mean, she should still live a semi-normal life. Maybe if she increased the amount of fatty foods that she eats, it would help?

I read a book called “Haunted” and one of the characters had this disease. He used it to minipulate people.
