Singing Frank Sinatra’s song, “My Way,” has become cause for starting fights and committing murder in the Philippines.
Karaoke is very popular there, as it is throughout much of east Asia, so it’s only natural that fights would break out during or after performances every once in a while. When it comes to “My Way,” however, deaths have been so common that many Philippine karaoke places now ban the song.
As for me, I’ll always be partial to the Sid Vicious version.
What would Frank think?

i concur.. it’s definitely true! my neighbor died because of singing “My Way” .. the reason behind the fights that result deaths .. bragging that he’s better and sounds like Frank Sinatra!
I’ve witnessed deaths because of that song. I came from the Philippines and one night I was sitting in a karaoke bar and my uncle was singing “My Way” together with his friend and my uncle starts bragging that he has a really good voice and his friend got his gun and shot him to death. Good thing I was across the room from him and got away immediately. RIP Uncle
