This man, Gregory Kloehn, wanted to make something out of nothing. In his own words:

I made a nice little home out of … a garbage can.

That is NOT a figure of speech, he means he actually made a livable fully equipped living space from one of those metal green dumpsters you see all over most cities … yes the smelly, gross ones (same)
