Believe It or Not!

Twin Hoax
Margaret Clark was an entertainer born with her twin attached by the head to her stomach. That was the backstory proclaimed at her performances at sideshows across the U.S.A., but Margaret did not have a conjoined twin, indeed Margaret did not a actually exist. She was an act played by longtime sideshow operator Billy Logsdon, who ran “Side Show Beautiful” out of Indiana in the 1940′s. The unfortunate baby twin was merely a rubber “gaff” taped to Billy’s belly. His face was covered because he played another character in his shows, a hermaphrodite, also thought to be a hoax, and he did not want to be recognized. “Margaret” would appear alongside Billy’s other classic sideshow acts including sword swallowers, small people and “The Human Pincushion”.
