Volcano Boarding

Guests at a hostel in Leon, Nicaragua, can hike to the top of the Cerro Negro volcano and then board down 1,640 ft (500 m) of its steep slopes at speeds of more than 50 mph (80 km/h). Formed in 1850, the Cerro Negro (“black mountain”) is Central America’s youngest volcano and also one of its most active, having already erupted 20 times.
