    Kaitlyn – September 13, 2015:

I’ve always enjoyed looking at and reading some of the featured stories or facts in the Ripley’s Believe It or Not! books. Many of the stories in each edition either fascinate me or gross me out.

The Riley’s Believe It or Not! Eye-Popping Oddities 2016 edition looks fantastic and is bound nicely. The bright orange papers and cover can be a bit blinding at times, but it does well to catch one’s attention. The eyes on the cover seem to follow you where ever you go. It’s a well designed book.

The content of the book ranges from world oddities, animals, body, art, food, etc. There are a lot of stories, both the featured stories or facts with images and the ones with only text. It took hours for my niece and I just to read through the ones with only pictures. I can’t even imagine how long it’d take to reach each and every story or fact within this book. There’s a ton! It could keep one busy for hours or days.

The images and graphics within the book are easy to see and pop out on each page. They’re clear images, no matter how big or small they are. Many are colorful, fun, and interesting to look at, minus the spiders and bugs that gross me out.

The text is easy to read. It’s not too small or bends in too much with the background. Ripley’s does well to make sure their book is readable and enjoyable.

All the bizarre, crazy, amazing, and interesting stories are fun to read. Many of the stories or facts I’ve never heard of. Some stories are shocking. Others leave you wondering why the in the world would someone do something that crazy. Some may even make you cringe or gross you out.

It’s a great book for tweens, teens, and even young adults. Anyone who is fascinated by interesting abnormal, and strange stories would enjoy the latest Ripley’s Believe It or Not! Eye Popping Oddities book.

I received this product through a promotion in exchange for a honest and unbiased review.

San Francisco Book Review – Rosi Hollinbeck – September 24, 2015:

One thing that can be said for all the Ripley’s books is they will never bore readers. This is certainly no exception. Hundreds of strange people, creatures, happenings, and other oddities are represented through mind-boggling photographs and short, fascinating write-ups about these curiosities. With everything from six-fingered people to side-show performers, from unusual funerals to a human dictionary, from worm tacos to blood sculptures, from people who walk their cabbages to the sad case of the man who was kissed to death, some of these will make you queasy to read, some will break your heart, some will make you laugh out loud, but every single one will be of interest. This is a perfect book to take on a long car trip, to keep in the bathroom, or to read aloud at a party. The Ripley’s people scour the world for the strangest and most interesting anomalies, and this book will not disappoint any readers interested in this sort of thing. The writing is snappy and fun. The photographs and drawings are absolutely fascinating and there are plenty of them to keep readers satisfied. This is a winner.

“Doctors in Changsha, China, saved Xiao Wei’s severed right hand by grafting it to his ankle. He lost he hand in a work accident, but could not have it reattached to his arm immediately.”

    Brittany Mathena – November 8, 2015:

I have always been interested in Ripley’s Believe It or Not items since I have yet to make it to a museum (I live too far away!). This book is amazing. It has so much information and you receive a large book filled with crazy facts for such a great price. You will find “eye-popping oddities” for just about every imaginable category – whether it be animals, tattoos, bugs, plants, accidents, food, etc.

There is something for everyone in this book and even some things you will wish you never saw or heard of so be careful with some photos and stories as they are not for the faint of heart!

    Trista (Mama’s Little Minions) – November 10, 2015:

I always have had a rough time getting my oldest to read any book without pictures and as he gets older that is a little less acceptable, I never understood his lack of desire to read both his father and I and his siblings love to read, but I keep trying to show him how fun it can be by getting books of all genres. For this one specific reason I was thrilled when given the chance to review this book, “Ripley’s Believe It or Not! Eye-Popping Oddities!”

Landon was super excited when I gave him this book, he immediately sat down to flip through it (after I made him take some pictures obviously, haha) The funny thing was Maverick also sat down to read this new book, although I think he enjoyed the pictures more. Ever since Landon got this book he has utilized all of the 256 pages worth of unique and off the wall facts and has shared every one with his father and I. This would normally drive me nuts but the fact he is reading and even more so excited to be reading I am thrilled!

This book is a hard cover with holographic eyes on the front, I admit those eyes creep me out, I can’t look at the front cover of this book without being creeped out, but the kids enjoy it and that’s the important thing.

The book itself is filled with facts and unique information only Ripley’s can bring to you, the easy to read and understand wording helps give kids confidence in their reading abilities if you ask me. Overall, I would have to say the entire family has been enjoying this book and we all would highly recommend it.
