Meyer will be accompanied by Mateo Blanco, a Colombian native whose unusual artwork hangs in several Ripley’s Odditoriums around the world.

Blanco has created several pop-culture and celebrity portraits for Ripley’s, all from unusual media, including dog hair, sugar, candy bars and Grade A Colombian coffee beans.

He’s also a world-class pop and opera singer originally trained in Medellin.

He now lives in Florida, where he teaches art to school children and acts as a cultural art advocate for South American-born artists.

If we like it, we'll buy it on the spot!

History with Colombia

In 1955, Ripley’s company president traveled to Colombia and discovered Javier Pereira, believed to be the oldest man in the world – at a reported 167 years old!

This and many other stories – including ones on the Cathedral de Villa Nueva, the tunnel at Fort San Felipe, and La Piedra – have been chronicled in the Ripley cartoon.

Now, Colombians have a chance to share their own unique, unusual, extraordinary items at the Searching for the Incredible events that could end up in the Ripley’s Believe It or Not! collection.
