Rumors of famous celebrities being frozen after death in hopes to be revived again may not be too far off!
We’re not exactly saying that Walt Disney’s body is an ice cube in some undisclosed location somewhere far, far away – BUT it does look like a not for profit organization based out of Michigan has already been taking the steps towards one day making revival from cryopreservation possible!
Father of Cryonics
The Cryonics Institute was founded in 1976 by Robert Ettinger whose fascination with preserving life through technology has earned him the title of “Father of Cryonics.”
In 1964, Ettinger wrote a book called “The Prospect of Immortality,” which introduced the idea of cryonics and since then the Cryonics Institute has established itself as an authority in the technology – starting with Ettinger’s own mother as their first patient!
How’s it work?
According to the Cryonics Institute, as soon as possible after a legal death, a member patient is infused with a substance to prevent ice from forming. They are then cooled to a chilling temperature where physical decay essentially stops. From there the member patient is maintained indefinitely in cryostasis or otherwise stored in liquid nitrogen.
There’s no doubt that cryopreservation is possible, but what about the whole coming back to life thing?
Well, the institute claims that revival is a real possibility. Many biological specimens have been cryopreserved, stored at liquid nitrogen temperature where all decay ceases, and revived; these include whole insects, vinegar eels, many types of human tissue including brain tissue, human embryos which have later grown into healthy children, and a few small mammalian organs. Increasingly more cells, organs and tissues are being reversibly cryopreserved.
But are you really talking about raising the dead?
The dictionary definition of “death” is permanent cessation of vital functions. Therefore, if someone is recovered, that means the person wasn’t “really” dead in the first place, and we think that’s the best way to look at it.Not according to the institute. Cryonics is a matter of rational procedure, not religious miracle. Cryonics can’t restore life to people whose brains have been long been physically destroyed — say a Lincoln, or a Julius Caesar, or those cremated. Cryonics simply — but reasonably — claims that if you cryopreserve a person in a way that limits damage, then that person’s brain structure may be preserved sufficiently to make it at least possible the eventual recovery of life and health.
With all the apparently dead people, no heartbeat or respiration — being revived every year, in hospitals all over the world, by the thousands – they seem to think that ‘raising the dead’ is not all that uncommon.
Interestingly enough, the cost of something like this is relatively affordable. If you’re looking to chill out after death, then you’ll need to cough up about $28,000 to start — a one-time fee, due at time of death.
that’s not just cool that is CRYONICS!!!
Indeed! Pun intended?
cool i hope it works
I definatly think this is an interesting thing as far as science and research but, do any of these/you people believe in the BIBLE or the LORD? If so, what is their/your opinion on Cryopreservation over what the BIBLE teaches us about life and death?
all that matters is what u believe.
woaa, can i see MJ perform on stage again??
So, how they’re going to find and put the human spirit back to the body??? Without spirit, there’s only zombie…
So what about people that die that are brought back to life by parametics or doctors? Are they just zombie souless shells?
I am not looking forward 2 a zombie apocalypse~!
well i am fool lol i want resident evil to happen(;
Well I am, That would be cool
seriously it is still reviving the dead, cause well they passed away. but sometimes, reviving the dead COULD CAUSE A PROBLEM, the zombie apocalypse and then be dead, eat brains and what not. thats what im worried about
Me no want
As in: zombie apocalypse
I don’t really want the dead to be revived, because they should just be able to rest in peace and live their happy afterlife. Their souls will be living in the afterlife while the bodies, well…that will cause a zombie apocalypse.
What if you get yanked out of Heaven and sent back to Earth as soon as you are revived?
How pi-angry would that make you??
Live human body with no spirit? Well the devil will just fill it up and horaaay!! We made an official zombie!
I feel pitty about those people who says “Zombie apocalypse” is going to happen just because you revived a person when they ceased to function, you are not living inside a movie so grow up. As for those people who talks about them not having a soul even if they are alive, please go back to your church would you, we know you are the kind of people who are willing to believe in fantasy rathen than real science
I guess this would make sense, but someone who gets revived would most likely need cybernetic parts and weekly, if not daily checkups to maintain health.
How long will the body stay alive once its revived alive again ? And for the all the ones talking about spirits well how do u actually know the spirit leaves. You don’t know and no one can really tell u the truth because you are dead and bow do u fins out what happens after death– you don’t. No one knows the real truth. I think its a wonderful thing to research and to see what happens
Only God has the authority to revive the dead. Doesn’t sit right with me.
Again, what about doctors and parametics? Just fire them and let everyone die???
I’m okay with this.
You can’t bring back a dead body without it’s soul! That sounds like a Zombie! Oh h#ll no!
God is the only one able to give life to the non living. It wont work!
I hope it will work !
People should not follow Satan. They should never ever live in fool’s paradise.
Read the Holy Quran. Only Alllah has the power to revive the dead, or the one to whom Allah bestows His own power, like the Prophet Esa (Jesus) could bring the dead back to life as mentioned in Holy Quran & also in Bible.
So, cryonics is “much ado for nothing”, or just “Satanic Creepy Fiction.”
Never ever try to fight your creator Allah. Just follow His Commandments in Holy Quran. Plain & simple.
Then everyone is a Winner, with no fear, as Allah says.
This sounds cool and all… like really cool… i like this kinda stuff. But this seems wrong to be. If this happens people won’t care about life as much and the world would be over populated. This also seems unnatural and shouldn’t happen. Life is precious.
Yo it’s not real
Well sign up Paul Walker.
Comment for what someone did ask me yesterday
If you die an old woman is that how yiu will be brought back
I want to know if one can be cryogenically and/or chronically frozen who isn’t dead as in like a healthy person?is it possible?all I’ve found information about is terminally ill or dead people.no one healthy.
AHAHAHA, spirits… Ponder this, what if the neurons in your brain just lost momentum and stop communicating and then in order to restore the brain you just hit em with a small electrical frequency.
the first successful cryonic revival will be bigger than the first moon walk. from michael in wollongong.
I do believe that the idea of cryogenic stasis is interesting and look forward to seeing it’s progress through the sciences. I sincerely hope it is not altogether abandoned. I’d like to see this go past science fiction.
Imagine you’re in 2016 and you go into cry stasis and are revived again 10,000 years later the things you’d see would be breathtaking . The technological advance mankind will certainly achieve would amaze us.(for better or for worse.)
Also to CRIS GERGER I noticed your comment stuck out. Most people may agree with the idea of cryostorage but sadly most healthy living people are not willing to allow themselves to be frozen cryogenically. I do agree though,Could a healthy person be cryogenically stored without consequence and if not what would the consequence be? As bad as death? Muscle deceleration? Memory loss?
Also to be frank these zombie apocalypse talk is ridiculous. Even if we were living in a movie which we are not think of the plot of an actual zombie movie. There would have to be a virus ,and even if the person comes back crazy and bites you he isn’t infected with anything. You won’t catch anything. The person who bit you is not sick he is just crazy. THINK PEOPLE!

Where like plants and flowers we’ve had are life we grow old and die, if we’re lucky there’s reincarnation, otherwise we’re gone and we will not know anything, let’s not be greedy some people only have short years. Plus I doubt I would want to come back and not know who my relatives are ,and miss the ones I knew real hard
