Tour de Turtle

This summer, all three Ripley's Aquariums are teaming up to sponsor a sea turtle in the 19th annual Tour de Turtles! Hosted by The Sea Turtle Conservancy, the Tour de Turtles is a three-month-long research and educational event to increase awareness about sea turtle conservation and encourage environmental stewardship. Each sea turtle will be outfitted with a safe, accurate satellite-tracking device that sends a signal each time the turtle surfaces to breathe. Transmitters are attached to adult female turtles after they successfully deposit eggs on their respective nesting beaches, just before they begin their migrations back to their foraging grounds. 

We're putting the whole Ripley's Aquariums family behind our turtle, but they can't race without a name. That's where you come in! Cast your vote below for the most turtle-y awesome name, and stay tuned: we'll be announcing the winner on May 31. Follow us on social so you don't miss it!
