MINI BELIEVE IT OR NOT –
In the 1950s, the U.S. Army tried to create a one-man “personal helicopter” called the Aerocycle.
- The Aerocycle was intended to be operated by someone with a just 20 minutes of instruction
- It was to be steered by shifting your weight
- The plan was to use the copter as a reconnaissance machine
- The aircraft proved to be too difficult to control and after two crashes, the project was abandoned
“BIONs” – short for Believe It or Not – is the word we use at Ripley’s to refer to anything that is unbelievable and worthy to become part of Ripley’s lore and collection.
