Ian found himself staring at a big pile of unwanted jeans destined for the charity shop. Last year we featured British artist Ian Berry on the blog for his incredibly detailed landscapes and portraits made from blue jeans. Berry has had a busy year and we wanted to unveil some of his new pieces.
Berry was a successful art director in London and Sydney when his idea for making art from discarded blue jeans came to him. He was looking at a pile of jeans that were about to be donated to charity when the inspiration struck.
Berry loved how the fabric is worn by people from all walks of life.
“It’s the great democratic fabric, worn by everyone from the farmer to the aristocrat.”
