MINI BELIEVE IT OR NOT –
Despite having six legs like any other insect, dragonflies actually cannot walk.
- Dragonflies have been around for 300 million years
- In the Carboniferous period, they had wing-spans of over 2 feet
- After hatching, baby dragonflies, called nymphs, live under water
- Nymphs can breath under water through gills located in their rectums, and they move by shooting water from their anus
MINI BION
“BIONs” – short for Believe It or Not – is the word we use at Ripley’s to refer to anything that is unbelievable and worthy to become part of Ripley’s lore and collection.
