Ripley’s Aquarium offers special programs for all home education students along with discounts at any time with appropriate documentation! For everyday homeschool discounts, pre-registration is required!

Symbiotic Relationships - September 18, 2024 - Sold Out

How do different species of animals interact with one another while living within their habitats? These interactions between species are known as symbiotic relationships. Learn how animals in these symbiotic relationships can affect each other in this program!

Apex Predators - October 16, 2024

Learn about the important role that apex predators play within an ecosystem. They can help to shape and define their habitat, and even help control the population of other species of animals. Apex predators can range in size from the Great White Shark down to the Pisaster sea star.

Invasive Species - November 20, 2024

Animals aren’t always welcome in their new home. Animals that are not native to a particular area can be considered an invasive species. Learn about different species and their ability to adapt quickly to their new home and the problems they can cause.

Unique Animal Senses - January 15, 2025

We all know the five basic senses: sight, smell, touch, taste, and hearing. This program dives into some of the unique senses that animals have developed, including an additional 6th sense!

Animal Defenses - February 19, 2025

Come learn about some of the basic and not so basic defenses that animals have. Animals have a variety of ways to protect themselves from deadly claws and teeth, blending into their environment, or hiding in a large group.

Animal Communication - March 19, 2025

Are animals able to communicate? Learn about the different methods that animals can use to communicate using sound, color, smell, movement, and more. Animals may use these as a greeting within their own group or as a warning to other animals.

Service Animals & Training - April 16, 2025

Can animals learn to help people with everyday tasks? Service animals can be trained to help with a variety of jobs, from the everyday task of retrieving an object to successfully guiding the blind down a busy street.

Marine Veterinarian - May 21, 2025

Interested in working with animals as a future career? Come and learn about the career of a marine veterinarian, including the schooling that is required for this career path. Hear from Ripley’s Aquarium own marine veterinarian and some of the aid given to our resident animals!

Did you know the Great Smoky Mountains are considered the Salamander Capital of the World? Salamanders are abundant in the Smokies and outnumber human visitors on even the park’s busiest days!
